As a small business owner in Palm Beach County Florida, I keep the printing companies in business. I make sure that I have plenty of attractive business cards (glossy with good paper) and I make sure that these cards are always accessible to me.

I give 3 to 4 business cards to my current piano lessons customers so that they can hand these cards out to their friends. I also give cards out to people that I meet at social events, as well as other business networking events.

You can also leave your business cards at the gym, at the dry cleaners, at your favorite restaurant, or even at the library.  Any place that has a little area for business cards, you must leave your cards.

I cannot tell you how many people have called me for piano lessons, for web design, or for our Palm Beach County Local Directory because somebody gave them my business card. A lot of times someone will say.. "Oh. I found your card somewhere.. not sure where" I get so tickled when I hear this because it reinforces my business card marketing efforts.

If you are a local business in Palm Beach County Florida, or anywhere for that matter, please order yourself some nice business cards and get these out to people and businesses. You will be amazed how just this marketing effort alone can help you increase your business exposure and your revenues as well.

As a local business owner here in Palm Beach County Florida, I cannot understate the importance of networking. The power of
networking in itself is truly significant and the results of your efforts can be truly incredible.

I met my current business partner at a Palm Beach Business Networking event and it has been an absolute blessing. I met someone
who shared the same dreams and ambitions as myself, and we are now working together as a team.

I used to be truly afraid of networking. Being a little bit shy by nature.. at least at first, I would not even think of attending
a chamber of commerce luncheon, or any other type of event. Once I started attending networking events, however, miracles started
happening.

The power of networking is exponential. When one person tells another person about your business
and they tell someone else.. and then they tell someone else, you can build a huge network of new referrals for your small business.

My plans this fall are to join two separate chambers of commerce here in Palm Beach County, and I may even join a couple of more
later in the year.

If you are a local small business owner who is looking to expand your business, start looking into joining some local organizations.
You will truly see a growth in your business as you begin to expand your business and personal contacts.

Networking is a smart choice for small local business owners. Do not neglect this exciting way to promote your business products
or services. It will truly make a difference in your bottom line!

I speak to many business owners in Palm Beach County Florida. They tell me that they just spent a thousand to two thousand dollars on a website. These individuals love their website. When I get to take a look at the website I am taken by the beauty of the design. I am also taken aback that not one local keyword is on their home page!

I am not going to write a long blog post. I just want to say the following:

1. A beautiful website poorly designed for the searches, with no local keywords for your business is a waste of good resources.

2. If you are a local business, this scenario is even more disheartening.

3. Remember that almost 70 percent of people now look online for a local business or service.

4. If you are a plumber in Wellington, Palm Beach County Florida you should be able to come up on the first  page of Google. The local market is much easier to rank for then the national or international market.

You are most likely a Palm Beach County business if you are reading this blog post. Please remember that your website is like your business card. You truly need to have it accessible to others if you want a constant flow of business.

If you are in the yellow pages, that is a good thing. People still read the yellow pages and a yellow page listing gets you a very small listing online as well. It is not a bad thing to be in the yellow pages, and I would never advice anyone not to have a presence in the yellow pages.

However... and this is my favorite word. If you are only listed in the yellow pages, your online exposure will be very small. You will not be able to be truly competitive in the local search market if you are only listed there. Having additional exposure in Google Maps, Yahoo Local, and MSN Live Local is important. In addition, it is important to have strong web presence outside of the aforementioned locations as well.

People are online a lot nowadays. People LOVE to surf the net, read and post on blogs, join forums, do research, e-mail friends, and visit social networking sites. Because people are spending more time on the internet, they will be more apt to search for a local business right where they are sitting. With almost 70 percent of people now looking online for businesses, you must have a presence online. This is crucial for any local business throughout the world.

As a piano teacher here in Wellington Florida, and as co-founder of Palm Beach Local.info, I know first hand the power of online advertising. I have a piano lessons website which I created and marketed to potential students in the Palm Beach County Florida area.

This website is linked to a bigger directory called www.pianoteachers.com  which actually gives me double the exposure, in addition to stronger backlinks for both sites. This means that my Google ranking gets stronger because both sites are linked to each other.

The reason that I bring this up is this:  85-90 percent of non-referral calls that I recieve inquiring about piano lessons have seen me on my website. I always ask potential customers where they found my listing..and online is mostly always the answer.

These statistics are very powerful for me and I utilize it to my advantage. I have a website with a video and I make sure that my website http://www.strictlypiano.com stays on page 1 of Google!

I do not know about you, but I find the yellow pages a little bit boring. They are always yellow...and really just kind of boring. Whenever I go to they yellow pages(which is infrequent).. I yawn.  I am bored. :)

Trying to make local search online a little more interesting seems like a worthy pursuit. There is no reason why we cannot have a little color, some vivid, beautiful pictures, and some video to describe a local business, or any other business for that matter.

With todays technological advances, there is no reason why looking for a new business product or service online cannot be an interesting, exciting, fun task. Hopefully, while searching online here in Palm Beach County Florida, you will not yawn.

Searching online for a business can be stimulating, educational, and even somewhat entertaining. Let's have some fun in your local search. Why not?
